Fells Point Corner Theatre announces the second show of our #RescueMe 2016-2017 season, The Whipping Man by Matthew Lopez.

As the gun smoke settles after the Civil War, a wounded Jewish Confederate Officer returns to find his family's plantation in ruins. The only waiting company and hope for his survival? Two former slaves.

Directed by Barry Feinstein and featuring cast members Percy Thomas, Michael Donlan, and Ian Smith, this fiery telling of history, war and religion takes our second floor Sokal Stage this October. Surrounded by The Shadows of their former lives and the spoils of war, the three men wrestle with their faith and the irony of Jewish slave ownership while meagerly fashioning a Passover Seder. The reality of their former enslavement soon bubbles to the surface and deeply buried secrets from the past refuse to stay hidden.

THE WHIPPING MAN opens Friday, October 14th and runs through Sunday, October 30th, 2016; playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. *There will also be a Pay What You Can Thursday performance on Oct 20*. Admission: $15 for Sundays, $20 for Fridays/Saturdays. For tickets, visit us at www.fpct.org.
