Single Carrot Theatre Presents 'Linus & Alora', 6/10-7/10

Single Carrot Theatre presents Linus & Alora by Andrew irons. In this full-force fantasy ride, Linus and his wife Alora must choose whether to live in a world of brutal truth or reckless imagination. Upon the discovery of resurgence of a long dormant disease, Alora escapes into her vivid imagination, where she finds comfort in long-forgotten friends. Will Linus make the leap, too? Or is it too late, leaving him to pick up the pieces by himself? Andrew irons is an immensely talented young playwright, and his words beat with life and unanswered questions. In a piece so shrouded in surreality, the connection between characters could not be sharper, allowing the audience to experience a vibrant aesthetic world as well as an emotional one.

This is the largest production team ever assembled by Single Carrot Theatre. On stage, the audience will be treated to live music, dance, video, multimedia and a set the likes of which Single Carrot has never previously imagined. An ambitious production, indeed, but one based on the hearty backbone of a beautiful script about two people in love, and they choices they must make.

Alora has nine months to go and an imagination that won't stop. She flees, with her husband Linus, to a daydream-world of shooting stars and fantasy family members. Irons' visually rewarding journey is devised of a smattering of theatrical elements, including video projections that dance through Alora's stunning stream of consciousness.

Reviewers are asked to attend the Opening Night performance, June 10th, or later.
