In-Flight Theatre and Arachne Aerial Arts Present FOR THAT WHICH RETURNS, Now thru 11/11
Flying into Baltimore's Theatre Project for eight shows running tonight, November 1 - 11, 2012, two companies on the forefront of aerial performance-Baltimore's In-Flight Theatre (Mara Neimanis) and Washington's Arachne Aerial Arts (Andrea Burkholder and Sharon Witting)-join forces to present For That Which Returns, an innovative aerial theater premiere, set atop a 18-foot kinetic steel sculpture of a weather vane.
Spinning atop a suspended six foot arrow and swinging on the intricate arms of the standing sculpture below, Mara, Andrea and Sharon blend their personal stories with the myth of Demeter and Persephone to reveal the seasons of connection between mothers and daughters.
The 60-minute show, presented without an intermission, features an original script by Mara Neimanis; choreography and performance by Andrea Burkholder, Mara Neimanis and Sharon Witting under the direction of Bryce Butler; sculpture by Tim Scofield.
