Fells Point Corner Theatre Presents THE MARRIAGE OF BETTY AND BOO, 4/16-5/2

By:

Fells Point Corner Theatre proudly presents on the Sokal Stage 'The Marriage of Bette and Boo' by Christopher Durang, directed by Barry Feinstein. The show will play from April 16 to May 2, 2010.

Bette and Boo are married with smiling families looking on, but life for the couple does not go as planned. After the birth of their first child, Bette endures a series of miscarriages and Boo starts to drink. Eccentric family members on both sides, including Boo's tyrannical father and Bette's psychotic sister, are not making things any easier and the priest they go to for help avoids their questions by impersonating a strip of frying bacon. Over the course of the play, their adult son gives his perspective on three decades of life, love and dysfunction.

The Marriage of Bette and Boo is directed by Barry Feinstein, who recently directed Moliere's The Miser, as well as Pinter's The Homecoming and Tracy Letts' Bug last season. Barry also teaches acting workshops and works with FPCT's "Special Players, Inspired Theatre." (formerly known as "The Challenged Ensemble") Featured in the cast are: Helenmary Ball, Daniel Douek, Holly Gibbs, Christopher Krysztofiak, Steve Lichtenstein, Kate McKenna, Megan Rippey, Janice Whelan and Michael B. Zemarel,

Christopher Durang, the humorist and satirist, has rarely written anything funnier or more serious than his mordant comedy "The Marriage of Bette and Boo." ...[Durang] has perfected the art of turning bitterness into comedy without losing its edge.
