Michael Paul Smith stars as aspiring actor Pete Hamilton, with Gillian Pensavalle cast as a softhearted casting associate named Valerie. Luke Kelly Clyne of Splitsider calls it "A fantastic series" and "Irresistably sharable." Media guru Paul Levinson says, "The acting is outstanding," with the cast displaying "impressive comedic talent."The principal cast also includes Nick Costa as Pete's character-actor roommate, Kelly Warne as a high-strung actress who is self-conscious about her age, Mark Gessner as a powerful casting director with a short fuse, and James Tabeek as his loyal-to-a-fault assistant.
"THE RESIDUALS' is a comedy about surviving an environment of commercial actors who try way too hard to mask their nervousness with cockiness," says Smith, who wrote and directed the entire series. "When you put those personalities in the position of having to read a single pitch line as though it were Shakespeare, you have a very funny blend of reality and absurdity."
The cast of THE RESIDUALS has amassed numerous credits on TV, Film, Broadway, the Web and, of course, commercials. Featured in Season Two are: Horatio Sanz, Jenna Leigh Green, Michael Torpey, J. THE RESIDUALS is produced by Smith and Pensavalle through Take It Back Productions, and edited by Pensavalle. The director of photography is Emmy Award-winner Ed Caraballo. Script supervisor is Carrie-Rachel Dean. All episodes feature contemporary music from Rhymesayers Entertainment and Smalls Live.

In October, BroadwayWorld's webseries partner THE RESIDUALS completed a successful $20,000 KickStarter campaign to help fund their second season. Soon after, husband and wife co-creators Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle began shooting Season Two; which will guest star SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Horatio Sanz and WICKED and SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH's Jenna Leigh Green. Currently, Pensavalle, who serves as the series' editor, is neck deep in footage, but she took some time earlier this week to update the show's supporters:

After a successful KickStarter campaign, the hit web comedy THE RESIDUALS has wrapped on its second season, which will debut exclusively on BroadwayWorld early in 2015. The series, created by and starring husband and wife Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, focuses on the unusual world of auditioning for commercials. Season Two features all of the kooky characters from the first season, and will feature Broadway's Jenna Leigh Green (WICKED, TV's SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH), SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Horatio Sanz, and commercial icon Michael Torpey.

One of their KickStarter rewards, allows the contributor to select any song for creators Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle to sing in a 'Dareoke.' In Season One of THE RESIDUALS, BroadwayWorld's newest webseries partnership, casting director Mark Lyell (SUBMISSIONS ONLY's Mark Gessner) might have come off as a little abrassive, and perhaps bi-polar. Jenna Leigh Green has quite a history with witches. First she played the best friend of one on SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH, then she played one's sister, before taking over as one, in WICKED. Now Green is set to guest star on Season 2 of THE RESIDUALS, BroadwayWorld's newest webseries collaboration. And while she won't be playing a witch, she will be playing a character who could be described by a word that rhymes with 'witch.'
