Hello! I'm currently a music performance major going into my last semester in college! You will see me writing a lot about my favorite subjects: musical theatre, history, and library science. These are all things that I have been learning about in my time at school. Outside of school, I love nail art and making jewelry!

Have Any Broadway Musicals Ever Closed Before They Opened? - I love the whole Broadway Deep Dive series by Jennifer Tepper, because she goes into the history of many things theatre-related that you may not even realize have such a rich history. I like that she takes requests from readers too, because there’s always a chance to learn something new that I may never have thought about! This article in particular was the first I remember reading from this series.
What Is the History of Broadway Rush and Lottery Tickets? - Here’s one example of what I mean when I say some things have a fascinating history that I never even realized. I guess I didn’t think that the lottery system was so new! It really puts into perspective how certain musicals, in this case Rent, can have an impact on theatre.
I think that to make the most of your studying, you have to take breaks every now and then, and these activities are good ways to do that while getting in touch with your surroundings.
This job has been very rewarding, giving me something new to learn each day, whether it be about my school's history, libraries in general, or even myself.
I truly feel that in the theater community, I never hear musicians talking about their experiences playing in pit orchestras for musicals (plus, that we just tend to be forgotten at times).
