Today, Tony Award winner and this year's Tonys host Hugh Jackman spoke at a cabaret performance at WAAPA -- the Western Australian Academy for Performing Arts, where he graduated 20 years ago -- to raise money for his new performing arts charity The Jackman Furness Foundation. On September 20, 2012, Opera singer Eric Jordan had a life-threatening stroke. The stroke left him with aphasia, which makes it hard to read, write or say what he means and apraxia, which is the inability to execute purposeful movements. Jordan said, Luckily for me, the stroke primarily affected the Broca area of my brain, which is responsible for speech production. I say 'luckily' because I can now sing with better verbal fluency than I can speak.'

After a sold-out first edition, Broadway's best writers and performers teamed together again to help raise funds for children with special needs in New York City and around the world. Victor Legra, Anthony Crouchelli & M.O.V.E for Autism presented 'Putting the Pieces Together: Volume 2' featuring the music of Carner and Gregor, Rosser and Sohne, Maglione and Ruiz, Joey Contreras, Justin Anthony Long, Jonathan Lee & Joanna Burns; David Dabbon, and Will Van Dyke. Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre presents the final production of its 2013-2014 Season, a revival of Gardner McKay's SEA MARKS, directed by Ciaran O'Reilly. The romantic two-hander stars Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Xanthe Elbrick (CORAM BOY, Irish Rep's CANDIDA) and Patrick Fitzgerald (Irish Rep's GIBRALTAR). SEA MARKS will be performed now through June 15th on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). The Press Opening is Monday, May 5, 2014 at 7PM.
