Samoan director and choreographer Lemi Ponifasio and his New Zealand-based company MAU make their BAM debut with the US premiere of Birds With Skymirrors, a haunting reflection on our relationship with the world in a time of climate change. Featuring concept, set design, choreography, and direction by Lemi Ponifasio and lighting design by Helen Todd, the show runs tonight, November 19, through November 22, 2014 at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House (30 Lafayette Ave). Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, the second longest-running Broadway musical (only surpassed by Lloyd Webber's own 'The Phantom of the Opera'), and fourth longest-running West End musical, returns in high definition and digital sound to Great Performances where it had its 1998 world television premiere. Last Thursday, November 6th, it was announced that Cafe Edison in Times Square has been denied a new lease by The Hotel Edison management. The diner, which has served as a hub for the Broadway community for more than 30 years, is expected to close at the end of the year. The story has sparked an outpouring of support, including a song from former BWW contributor Melanie Bowditch to the tune of LES MISERABLES' 'Do You Hear the People Sing'. Check it out below!

Jeremy Swift will play Mr Perks and Caroline Harker will be recreating the role of Mother in the Olivier Award-winning production of Mike Kenny's stage adaptation of E. Nesbit's novel The Railway Children when it returns to London on 16 December 2014 in its new home, the King's Cross Theatre. As previously reported, Maiden High School in Maiden, North Carolina, recently canceled its upcoming production of ALMOST, MAINE due to controversial content, specifically, a single scene, 'titled The Fell,' in which two male characters realize their feelings for one another. The Maiden High School principal made the decision to cancel the romantic comedy soon after rehearsals began, after receiving complaints from both parents and churches in the area, despite permission slips being signed. Now, Maiden's ALMOST, MAINE has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund that effort. It has already met (and surpassed) its $1,000 goal, with 41 backers, $1,363 donated, and 13 days to go.
