In his first feature length directorial debut, Austin-based producer and director David Blue Garcia has taken home the 'Audience Award' for his film Tejano from the Dallas International Film Festival, it has been announced today.

According to Variety, Paramount Pictures and Amblin Partners have finalized a deal to secure the music and life rights from Leonard Bernstein's estate, with Bradley Cooper in talks to direct, produce, and star in a biopic about the legendary composer.

Austin based artist Peter More has announced the release of his debut LP Beautiful Disrepair, out June 29. More's debut album was produced by Steely Dan's Donald Fagen, and happens to be the first full-length from a new artist, ever produced by Fagen. Michele Weaver (“Illicit”) and Will Catlett (“Black Lightning”) star in OWN's new romantic drama “Love Is__,” from award-winning producers Mara Brock Akil (“Girlfriends,” Being Mary Jane,” “The Game”) and Salim Akil (“Black Lightning”). Set primarily in 1990's Los Angeles against the backdrop of Black Hollywood, “Love Is__” follows Nuri (Michele Weaver) and Yasir (Will Catlett), a couple from seemingly opposite worlds, as they chase their dreams and learn to follow their hearts. Told from the perspective of the couple's present-day selves, the romantic drama also revisits the social issues and vibrant black culture of that time reflecting on how it all aligned to shape the couple they have become nearly 20 years later -- a power couple navigating a complex set of social codes while also balancing successful careers and a beautiful family. YouTube announced its order for an expansive new series on artificial intelligence that will be executive produced by Team Downey partners Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, Network Entertainment's Derik Murray and Paul Gertz, and Sonar Entertainment's Jenna Santoianni and Tom Lesinski. The series will feature some of the brightest minds in science, philosophy, technology, engineering, medicine, futurism, entertainment and the arts to tell the dynamic story of A.I. The 8-episode hour-long series will debut exclusively on YouTube Red in 2019.

CNBC today announced the network's all-new “Deal or No Deal” with original host Howie Mandel will be taped at Universal Orlando Resort. CNBC's “Deal or No Deal” will consist of 30 original one-hour episodes and will join the network's primetime lineup in fourth quarter 2018.
