 KCRW and the Hammer Museum team up once again to present three nights of live music and DJ sets as part of KCRW's Summer Nights series, Thursdays, July 12, 19, and 26. This year's series features Cut Chemist, Kauf, Still Woozy, Sam Evian, Neil Frances, and KCRW DJs Jeremy Sole, Valida, and Anthony Valadez. All concerts are free, open to the public, all-ages, and held outdoors in the Hammer's lively courtyard. The museum's galleries will be open late so guests can enjoy the Hammer's acclaimed biennial exhibition Made in L.A. 2018.

ANN WILSON of HEART, one of rock's most distinctive and powerful vocalists, will release her new solo album September 14 on BMG, marking her debut for the label. Fittingly titled IMMORTAL, the album features 10 musically diverse tracks that pay homage to some of the singer's favorite songs and artists, all of whom have passed away in recent years and whose music poignantly lives on (the full track listing is below).

Multi-platinum country music star Sara Evans will receive the 2018 Service to America Leadership Award from the NAB Education Foundation (NABEF). Evans will receive the award at NABEF's Celebration of Service to America Awards on June 12 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.

On the heels of Illinois becoming the 37th state since 1972 to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment on Wednesdaynight, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), House sponsor of the Equal Rights Amendment (H.J. Res. 33), will host a shadow hearing on the need for an Equal Rights Amendment on Wednesday, June 6 from 3 – 5pm on Capitol Hill. Hearing witnesses will be actress and activist Alyssa Milano, Co-President of the ERA Coalition Carol Robles-Román, and Jessica Lenahan, plaintiff in Supreme Court case Castle Rock v. Gonzales. In April,Maloney sent a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte requesting a hearing on the ERA but has received no response. There has not been a Congressional hearing on the ERA since 1984.
