Surfside Players is seeking a new director for the eleventh annual production of the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. The musical tribute to sci-fi and horror B-movies will be screened, with shadow cast, on October 19 - 27 (Friday and Saturday for two weekends).

SculptureCenter has announced the first LIC Block Party, presented with the Purves Street Block Association. The LIC Block Party features artist-led activity tents, a stage with live music and interactive performances, and a community-built, large-scale temporary sculpture. On Tuesday, August 21, families will once again experience Kids' Night on Broadway (KNOB) with the musical THE LION KING at The Fabulous Fox. Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation (FPACF) presents this evening of interactive events which begins at 6pm with African drumming and dance by Afriky Lolo's young dancer group Yele and a Craft Alliance activity tent in Strauss Park. Events move to The Fox lobby across the street at 6:30pm where kids will be able to create their own African storybook and headdress, watch a mini-musical about what it takes to put on a Broadway show and learn about area performing arts classes. A Q&A with cast and crew from The Lion King will take place in the theatre after the performance.

Celebrating 80 Years, The Bergen County Players (BCP) presents The Music Man, a musical comedy and treasured piece of theater by Meredith Willson. Under the direction of Larry Landsman, The Music Man will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from September 8th through October 6th, 2012. Shows will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
