Following a successful premier at Jobsite Theater in Tampa last May, "Little Tunes" (http://littletunes.org) has been selected for the 2012 United Solo festival -- the world's largest solo theatre festival -- in New York City. Tampa actor/playwright Ned Averill-Snell will perform his one-man play in the heart of Manhattan's theatre district on October 31.

Masterworks Broadway continues to release cast recordings previously unavailable in the CD era. From the Lark Play Development Center's BareBones® workshop program that supported Katori Hall's THE MOUNTAINTOP, Rajiv Joseph's BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO, and Kristoffer Diaz's WELCOME TO ARROYOS, the Lark announces a BareBones® workshop of THE WAY WEST by Mona Mansour, directed by Linsay Firman. The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced an all day Halloween fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) on Wednesday, October 31st, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. CPK is located in the Gardens Mall Food Court on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens.

Broadway stars Barbara Walsh (Company) and Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) join Bill Connington, the star of ZOMBIE, in performing in a benefit reading of Oscar Wilde's classic comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest ("A Trivial Comedy for Serious People"). Also in the cast are William Connell (The Coast of Utopia), Vivienne Cleary (Peace Warriors), Annmarie Benedict (Robeson), D.H. Johnson (Dodsworth), and Oliver Houser (Spring Awakening, Virginia Rep).

The 2012 BRIDGE SCHOOL CONCERTS will be held this weekend Oct 20th and 21st at The Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, marking the 26th anniversary of this incredible and historic series. The Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation today announced that after an international search to identify a new Executive Director, the Board of Trustees has chosen to continue the Ailey tradition of passing on leadership from one generation of the organization to the next by naming Bennett Rink to the post. Mr. Rink, Ailey's current Senior Director of Development and External Affairs, will succeed Sharon Gersten Luckman, who hired him in 1994, and who announced at the beginning of 2012 that she would step aside as Executive Director at the beginning of 2013.

Announced in early September, San Leandro based Curtain Call Performing Arts, INC. (CCPA), and California Conservatory Theatre (CCT), merged and joined forces with a shared vision to continue to provide exceptional live theatre to San Leandro and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. After a summer of negotiations the two companies have moved forward under the CCPA name.

Classic Stage Company's new production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV, starring Ethan Hawke, Joely Richardson and Juliet Rylance, and directed by Austin Pendleton, begins previews Wednesday, October 17 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), prior to an official opening Sunday, November 4. IVANOV has extended its run by popular demand through Sunday, December 9. Hawke, in the title role, Richardson, who will play Anna, and Rylance, who will play Sasha, will be joined in IVANOV by Glenn Fitzgerald (Borkin), Annette Hunt (Avdotya Nazarovna), Stephanie Janssen (Babakina), Roberta Maxwell (Zinaida), George Morfogen (Shabelsky), James Patrick Nelson (Kosykh), Anthony Newfield (Guest), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Lvov), Anne Troupe (Gavrila) and Louis Zorich (Lebedev).

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for The Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, running Nov. 10 - Nov. 18 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale was named Artist of the Year at the Arts & Business Council of Sacramento's 25th annual Prelude to the Season awards event, which took place Oct. 12 at the Woodlake Hotel in Sacramento. Casale was one of three nominees for Artist of the Year, a category that honors artists who have made a significant contribution to the cultural life of the Greater Sacramento Region.

The Velocity of Autumn by Eric Coble, which had its World Premiere at Boise Contemporary Theater in the spring of 2011, will play Arena Stage in spring 2013. Molly Smith, the Artistic Director of Arena Stage in Washington D.C. has signed on to direct , and Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons and Tony Award winner Stephen Spinella will star in this two-character play.

The World Premiere of 'Waiting for Pierrot' marks the end of a nearly ten year hiatus of commedia dell'arte artists Allison Latta and Noel Williams as they resurrect their beloved commedia dell'arte characters in a two person show that brings a refreshing twist of a classic tale of nothingness. Inspired by lawsuits, gender wars, and Rita Hayworth these two ladies create an evening of masks, improvisation, audience participation, and physicality that will leave their audience laughing, crying, and wondering why you aren't supposed to say vagina. 'Waiting for Pierrot' premieres at the Vittum Theatre, November 13th -28th, 2012.
