The new family musical special, The Christmas Rose, features a cast of over 400 and stars the multiple Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actress Jane Seymour and legendary Broadway actor and Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams. The Christmas Rose, with music and story by PBS composer Tim Janis, follows a young orphan named Annabelle, played by thirteen year old Bailey Grey, into the desert where she crosses paths with everyone from the three wise men and singing angels to Mary and Joseph, while being pursued by a team of desert bandits. Kathie Lee Gifford, the librettist, lyricist and driving force behind the new Broadway show, Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson, visits THEATER TALK with three of show's stars - Carolee Carmello, George Hearn and Roz Ryan - to discuss McPherson, the charismatic evangelist who captured America's attention in the 1920s. Grace United Methodist Church presents pianist David Buddin (voted best New York composer 2012 by the Village Voice) performing the New York premier of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Natural Durations 1-12. The concert will be held on Sunday, December 2 at 4pm, free admission. This is the first half of Karlheinz Stockhausen's vast meditation on piano sonority. One of Stockhausen's last pieces, it is the third 'hour' of his 'Klang' cycle, derived from a single twenty-four-note set ran through a myriad of permutations and transformations.
