As part of the eighth edition of the COIL festival, Performance Space 122 (PS122) and the New Ohio Theatre present the world premiere of Seagull (Thinking of you) from Tina Satter and her company Half Straddle. This heartfelt, both comedic and dark work uses Chekhov's The Seagull as a jumping off point to reconsider the success and failure of performance and love.

THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF SONG: The Music of Harold Arlen, a musical revue featuring Stormy Weather, Come Rain or Come Shine, Paper Moon, Accentuate-The-Positive, Lets Fall in Love, and all the much-loved tunes from THE WIZARD OF OZ, begins previews at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC on Thursday, December 13 and opens officially on Thursday, January 10 at 8 PM.

Sensible, reserved Elinor and passionate, impulsive Marianne find the road to true love beset with dashing suitors and well-meaning relatives, devoted friends and devious rivals, and scandalous secrets and unexpected twists in a period-perfect adaptation that captures all of the deliciousness, flirtation and folly of Jane Austen's well-loved novel. The play is adapted from the book by Mark Healy. Making his Rep debut, Art Manke will direct the play. The cast features Associate Artists Jonathan Gillard Daly and Laura Gordon, and guest actors John-Patrick Driscoll, Nick Gabriel, Kate Hurster, Ben Jacoby, Victoria Mack and Meaghan Sullivan. Rep Artistic Intern Ensemble Members Jonathan Altman, Emily Berman, Jess Prichard and J.R. Yancher are featured in the Ensemble as well as Anna Cline and Brandon Herr. The Associate Producers for this production are Steve and Nancy Einhorn and James and Pati Ericson. Sense and Sensibility runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from December 11, 2012 - January 13, 2013 and opens on Friday, December 14, 2012.

The Chicago Jazz Orchestra (CJO) has been chosen to perform at the 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors Gala this Sun., December 2, in Washington, D.C. This performance marks the 24th straight year that the CJO has been awarded this singular performance honor.

On Saturday, December 8th, Everyman Theatre will be hosting a "Wrap Party" to say good-bye to its home of 18 years on Charles Street. The theatre company will be inviting subscribers, volunteers, board members, and more to visit the Charles Street location for one final time before the new location on Fayette Street officially opens to the public in January, 2013. The Open House-style party will occur from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Matisse: In Search of True Painting explores Henri Matisse's painting process by showcasing 49 vibrantly colored canvases that demonstrate the artist's tendency to use his completed canvases as tools, repeating compositions in order to compare effects, gauge his progress, and, as he put it, "push further and deeper into true painting." (December 4, 2012-March 17, 2013).

The inaugural season of the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse's Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival was a success, according to Festival organizers. The Festival, held in Auburn, N.Y., included nine musicals and played a significant role in shaping 20 new musicals during the 2012 season. Downtown Auburn also saw a boost in activity as patrons visited restaurants and spent time in the city.

Peter Marshall, the five-time Emmy Award-winning host of The Hollywood Squares, who interrupted a career on Broadway to heed the call of Hollywood, returns to his showbusiness roots in a six-show major engagement at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, in January.
