National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Rocco Landesman announced that Portland Ovations is one of 832 non-profit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. Portland Ovations is recommended for a $40,000 grant to support its core programming in contemporary chamber music, dance and global arts with a special emphasis on its series celebrating the centennial of Igor Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring.'

Dicapo Opera Theatre and Opera Moderne will present the world premiere of Marrying Mozart with four performances beginning Thursday, December 13, 2012. Subsequent presentations take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 14, 15 & 16, 2012. Thursday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and the final performance on Sunday at 4 p.m.

MTC MainStage, Music Theatre of Connecticut's Professional Equity Acting Company, presents an encore of its' Moss Hart Award-Winning production of 'It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.' Adapted for the stage by Joe Landry and directed by MTC MainStage Artistic Director Kevin Connors, this beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. Two benefit performances are Saturday, December 15 at 2pm and 8pm and take place at MTC MainStage Studio Theatre in Westport, CT. All proceeds to benefit Music Theatre of Connecticut and its programming.

Sexton, an ardent animal rights proponent dedicates a section of the book to the important role that animals and animal rescue have played in her life.
