Celebration Theatre announced today changes to their management team. Effective immediately, the Artistic Director position will be shared by the Ovation award-winning duo of Michael Matthews and Michael A. Shepperd. Both Matthews and Shepperd are former Artistic Directors of Celebration Theatre and are excited to be back to guide the theatre into it's thirty-first season and beyond.

Black Women: State Of the Union returns to the Company of Angels' black box performance space in the historic Alexandria Hotel in downtown Los Angeles due to overwhelming audience response from last year's run at the Skylight Theater. BWSOTU-Taking Flight re-opens February 15th and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm through February 24, 2013.

Barrel of Monkeys moves its clever, witty and poignant 'That's Weird, Grandma' to Sundays at 2 p.m. February 3 through May 5 at the Neo-Futurarium, 5153 N. Ashland. There is no performance on Sunday, March 3. Barrel of Monkeys resumes regular Monday night performances on March 11 at 8 p.m. in conjunction with the matinees. Disney's THE LION KING triumphantly returns to Bass Concert Hall in Austin from Wednesday, January 16 through Sunday, February 10. A special KIDS' NIGHT will occur on Thursday, January 17 with pre-show activities beginning at 6:30pm in the Bass Concert Hall lobby before the 8:00pm performance. Children will have the opportunity to make masks and receive autographs from LION KING cast members. For KIDS' NIGHT, a child under the age of 12 will receive a free ticket with the purchase of one full price adult ticket. Following last winter's wildly successful run of Molière's The Learned Ladies, a hilarious French farce will once again heat up the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre in February and March at Shakespeare & Company. This year, a talented ensemble of Company artists will take on award-winning playwright David Ives's (Venus in Fur, All in the Timing) razor sharp and rib-tickling adaptation of Pierre Corneille's classic farce, The Liar, running from February 1 through March 24. The production is directed by founding member Kevin G. Coleman, the critically acclaimed director of The Memory of Water (2011) and The Winter's Tale (2010), among many others.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that the New York premiere of Belleville, written by Amy Herzog and directed by Anne Kauffman, will begin performances Tuesday, February 12 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Sunday, March 3 at 7pm. Belleville is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 31.

Winning a Pulitzer Prize in 1988 and the Oscar for Best Picture in 1989, "Driving Miss Daisy" is opening at the Alhambra Theatre on February 5. Appropriate for a play of such esteem, the Alhambra has brought in not one, as has been its custom of late, but two stars to carry the show: four-time Emmy Award Winner, Michael Learned will star as Daisy Werthan and Lance Nichols, star of the HBO series TREME, as her chauffeur, Hoke Coleburn. This will be the fourth time Learned and Nichols will star together in "Driving Miss Daisy." Rounding out the three-person cast is Michael Edward Hodge, a New York actor who plays Daisy's son, Boolie Werthan.

Marin Theatre Company's Board of Directors announced today that it has named Michael Barker as the 46-year-old nonprofit theater company's new managing director. Currently the general manager of Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, CA, Barker will assume his full-time duties at MTC on February 25, 2013.

Casting Announced for Las Vegas Production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

After a nationwide search, full casting has been announced for the Las Vegas production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, which begins performances at Harrah's Las Vegas on February 4. The cast will be led by Martin Kaye as Jerry Lee Lewis, Benjamin D. Hale as Johnny Cash, Tyler Hunter as Elvis Presley and Robert Britton Lyons as Carl Perkins. The cast also features Marc Donovan as Sam Phillips, Felice Garicia as Dyanne, and musicians Jim Belk and Mikey Hachey.
