Lauren Rayner Productions presents CANDY TASTES NICE - a solo play written and performed by award-winning playwright Miranda Huba, which follows a young girl determined to auction off her virginity in order to repay student loans. CANDY TASTES NICE begins previews on February 26, prior to an official press opening of March 5 in the upstairs lounge at Madame X (94 Houston Street, north side btw LaGuardia Place & Thompson Street) in Manhattan. The University of Texas at Austin Department of Theatre and Dance presents the world premiere of Suzan Zeder's The Edge of Peace, February 1 - 10 at the B. Iden Payne Theatre. Set in the last days of World War II, a young soldier from a small Illinois town has been declared missing in action. Buddy, the soldier's little brother, refuses to believe what seems inevitable. Told through the visual poetry of sign language, the town's deaf postman shares the story of one community struggling to make sense of a world at war.

Ghost & Spice Productions, a long-running member of the rich and vibrant Triangle theatre community, will be canceling the remainder of its season. The successful run of Harold and Maude in October will serve as their final production.

Westport Country Playhouse's next Script in Hand playreading will be the award-winning play "Intimate Apparel" by Lynn Nottage, set for one-night-only on Monday, February 11, 7 p.m. All tickets are $15. The cast includes Geneva Carr, Lynda Gravatt, Donnetta Lavinia Grays, Billy Eugene Jones, Paul Anthony Stewart, and Susan Kelechi Watson. Director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic advisor.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three staged readings of "Casanova", a new musical with music by Martin Sylvestri, book and lyrics by Joel Higgins, directed by Gabriel Barre. Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma today announced major casting decisions for its 50th Anniversary Season in 2013, featuring new and returning national talent including Helen Hedman, Eleasha Gamble, Mel Sagrado Maghuyop, Heather Geery-Mayfield and Tom Huston Orr. Scenic Designer Adam Koch (MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET) will also return to provide set design for TARZAN and BIG RIVER.

The play that started as a commemoration of Bob Wills' 100th birthday in 2005 is coming back to Austin for one final week of shows in February 2013. This first-ever musical drama about the legendary Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys debuted in Austin in 2005 and has since enjoyed great success in more than 70 performances in 19 cities.

Stubborn Heart - aka Luca Santucci & Ben Fitzgerald - set ears buzzing last year with a (then unidentified) white label 12" and followed it up earlier this summer with the 'Need Someone' EP (on Kaya Kaya records, an imprint of XL Recordings). The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, will present an all-star cast in the World Premiere of NOW AND FOREVER: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, featuring the legendary composer's greatest musical treasures. Agatha, his mother, dropped five years from her true age-and his-when she married amiable magistrate Posket. Acclaimed singer and songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway will return to Birdland Jazz Club from January 22 to 26 with a special new show, "Bridges" - inspired by the song by Brazilian composer Milton Nascimento. The show will feature songs such as 'Let's Call the Whole Thing Off', "Chelsea Bridge", 'How Do You Keep the Music Playing?', "No One Is Alone" and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water." Her all-star trio will feature Ted Rosenthal at the piano, Martin Wind on bass and Tim Horner on drums. "Bridges" explores songs about how people connect and move beyond their differences, inhibitions and fears. "I am responding to the extraordinary polarization in our country at this time, says Callaway. "During the recent election, people became so hostile, forgetting about what they had in common and focusing only on their differences. Music has the power to heal and so I am offering a show that puts a new light on things for this new year, using the symbol of a bridge as a beautiful image to contemplate in all its forms."
