Ethan Lipton will be the inaugural recipient of the program.

Two Mamaroneck based theatres - one the oldest continuously operated theatre in Westchester, the Emelin Theatre, and the other the 4 year old Westchester Sandbox Theatre team up this summer. The Emelin Theatre will host the Sandbox Theatre's upcoming production of Smokey Joe's Cafe which will run June 29, 30 & July 1,6,7,8. Now in its 29th year, the much anticipated Music from Angel Fire season will open Friday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 with a total of 14 concerts featuring works from the Baroque to the Contemporary periods. Performances will take places in a number of Northern NM locations including Taos, Angel Fire, Raton, Eagle Nest, and Las Vegas.

Different Stages continues its 2011 - 2012 season with Is Life Worth Living? by Lennox Robinson. A traveling repertory troupe comes to a small village in Ireland and after a week or so of Ibsen, Chekhov, and Strindberg, the town is driven mad. Is Life Worth Living? is a gloriously goofy comedy that imagines the undesirable effects a steady diet of serious drama might have on the amiable residents of the provincial seaside town of Inish.

The SFArtsED Summer production of Oklahoma! on Monday, July 23, 2012 will be 'rousing, beautiful and everything this classical musical should be.' Accompanied by the 30-piece UC Berkeley Summer Symphony, the young performers, ranging in age from 9 to 19 will make this one of the can't-miss events of the summer. The show is at 7:30 p.m. at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, 50 Oak St., San Francisco.

Seattle Center Festál: Festival Sundiata - African-American Festival, June 30 - July 1, 12 p.m. - 8 p.m., in the Armory/Center House and Fisher Pavilion, explores the cultural roots and contemporary influences of African-Americans in our region through live performances, cultural displays, hands-on activities, foods, fashion and worldy gifts.

At a May meeting of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, David C. Nichols was chosen as the Circle'spresident for a one-year term. Nichols, who writes for the L.A. Times and other local publications, had previously held that office from 2008 to 2010.

The Pearl Theatre Company today announced the directors of the shows comprising its 29th season, the first in its new, permanent home on West 42nd Street.

Sitcom star and comedian Billy Gardell, will perform at The Orleans Showroom July 27 and 28.
