Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

As previously reported, Stephanie J. Block will join the Tony Award winning company of Anything Goes performing the role of 'Reno Sweeney' while Sutton Foster is filming the television pilot, Bunheads, for 3 weeks beginning tonight, November 4. Block will fill the famed tap shoes though November 22. BroadwayWorld caught up with Block this week and was treated to a sneak peek of the star in costume as 'Reno'. Below, we give you glimpse!

Philippine Development Foundation ('PhilDev') will present it's upcoming gala event, PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim,on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 7:30pm at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City. Headlining the event are Tony Award winners Robert Lopez, who will be honored with an Award of Excellence, and international star Lea Salonga. Yesterday, BroadwayWorld caught up with Salonga in rehearsal for the event and was given a sneak peak of her rendition of Sondheim's 'Move On'!

The new musical comedy NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, with music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, will open at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway in April, 2012. NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT stars two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick (The Producers, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Brighton Beach Memoirs) and three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara (South Pacific, The Pajama Game and The Light in the Piazza) and will be directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, The Pajama Game, Wonderful Town).

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater is currently presenting Asuncion, a new comedy by Academy Award-nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) at The Cherry Lane Theatre. The Tony award-winning Hugh Jackman has returned to Broadway this fall in Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre. Jackman brings the one-man concert show to New York for a 10-week engagement. Previews began on October 25, 2011 in anticipation of a November 10 opening night. The production will run through January 1, 2012.

The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL is now in preview performances at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre. Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific), the show will open on Monday, November 7. As BroadwayWorld.com first reported this weekend, FOLLIES star Jan Maxwell was hit by a minivan while crossing 45th Street following the Saturday, October 29 matinee. The star suffered injuries to her arm and leg. She was unable to perform on Saturday night and was also be out at the Sunday matinee to stay home and recuperate. Her understudy, Colleen Fitzpatrick, went on in her absence this weekend. BroadwayWorld has just confirmed with a spokesperson for the show that Maxwell is back and better, and will resume performances tonight, November 1.

Famed producer Gilbert Cates has passed away today at the age of 77. Having recently underwent heart surgery, Cates reportedly collapsed today in a parking lot of the UCLA campus in Los Angeles.

Block will join the Tony Award winning company of Anything Goes performing the role of 'Reno Sweeney' while Sutton Foster is filming the television pilot, Bunheads, for 3 weeks in November.
