Lewis University's Philip Lynch Theatre (PLT) presents "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin and conceived by Rebecca Feldman. "Spelling Bee" is a musical comedy. Audiences will plunge head first into the minds of the unusual characters and their "unfortunate" problems that could keep them from "bee-coming" this year's spelling champion. The show opens Friday, April 20 and runs until Sunday, April 29.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre has announced an unprecedented gift of $1 million for its Conservatory of Performing Arts from Jupiter residents Paul and Sandra Goldner. In a ceremony held in the Goldners' honor, the Theatre's leaders unveiled signs bearing the Conservatory's new name: the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts.

On Golden Pond opens Friday, March 30 through April 14 in Gallery's arena theater. Themes of mortality, family relationships, marriage and generations all play out at Norman and Ethel Thayer's small lake house in Maine beside Golden Pond. The aging couple spends each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. When they are visited by daughter Chelsea with her fiance and his son in tow, the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.

Aurora Theatre continues the 2011-2012 Harvel Lab Series with the Spanish language production of El Insolito Caso de Miss Piña Colada (The Preposterous Case of Miss Piña Colada) by Carlos Ferrari. This comedy runs April 12 - 29, 2012. In the play, penniless widow Ofelia has been left with nothing but her pride by her deceased good-for-nothing husband. To regain some of her luster in "society," she will stop at nothing to have her daughter, Loreley, crowned queen of the Miss Piña Colada beauty pageant. Ofelia pawns her belongings, fends off debt collectors and even causes her children to break the law. This April, Aurora Theatre becomes home to the hijinks of a widow trying to keep up appearances in the midst of diminishing fortunes.

Chicago's "Best New Play", Musical of the Living Dead is spreading its infectious "Musical Zom-com" (zombie comedy) to the historic Rex Theater. Musical of the Living Dead is an original musical parody of classic zombie films and musical theatre. Featuring music inspired by everything from Gershwin to Green Day, Musical of the Living Dead follows the lives of ten very different people trapped in a farmhouse during the breakout of a zombie apocalypse - all brought together seeking refuge from a ravenous horde of brain-eating (and dancing) zombies.

On Tuesday, March 20, Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club, a premier golf club in Boca Raton, Florida, welcomed back recent recipient of the Fred Ebb Award and Tony Award Nominee, Jeff Blumenkrantz and his fellow Broadway actor, Laura Patinkin. The two performers showcased their talents for a crowd of more than 200 Boca Grove members and guests. The intimate, two person show featured a number of beloved Broadway standards from shows such as 'Sound of Music,' 'West Side Story,' 'Gypsy,' 'Cabaret' and more. They also performed a handful of Blumenkrantz's original songs.

Both represent David's dual career, bridging his crossover repertoire with his classical career that began at age 9 when played his first symphony concerts, to later signing a deal with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label at 14. Landing at #1 on the top of the UK's classical chart, Legacy also achieved platinum status in Germany, where it was the highest debut on the Pop Chart for a classical instrumental recording since the inception of that chart in 1962.

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium, announces that more than 25,000 tickets to the Dallas Opera's one-night-only April 28th Cowboys Stadium Simulcast, presented by The Dallas Foundation, have been requested by opera lovers from throughout Texas and 26 additional states. Ticket requests have also come in from the District of Columbia and Canada since the joint announcement was made on January 26th at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
