SHOWTIME has given a pilot production order to ROADIES, a comedy that follows the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the eyes of music's unsung background players - the crew members who help get the show on the road. Cameron Crowe, who won an Oscar(R) for brilliantly chronicling the highs and lows of rock and roll life as witnessed by a Rolling Stone magazine cub reporter in his semi-autobiographical film Almost Famous, wrote and will direct the one-hour pilot (for a potential half-hour series). Crowe will executive produce with Emmy(R) and Tony(R) nominee Winnie Holzman (Huge, My So-Called Life, Wicked), who will serve as showrunner, as well as Emmy winners J.J. Abrams (Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest) and Bryan Burk (Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest). Kathy Lingg (Person of Interest, Revolution) is co-executive producer. ROADIES is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Vinyl Films and Dooley & Company Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc.

HISTORY announced today new casting for season three of its hit scripted series VIKINGS, including Lothaire Bluteau (The Tudors) as Emperor Charles of France, a powerful man who views battling the Vikings as spiritual and earthly; Kevin Durand (The Strain) as The Wanderer, a mysterious man who is not what he seems; and Morgane Polanski (The Ghost) as Princess Gisla, the elegant, self-possessed daughter of Emperor Charles and his most trusted advisor. They join previously announced Ben Robson (Dracula: The Dark Prince) who will play Kalf, Lagertha's trusted second in command.

It was announced today by Host Julie Chen on “The Talk” that BIG BROTHER will debut its most “twisted” season ever during its special two-night premiere on Wednesday, June 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Thursday, June 26 (9:01-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. In tribute to actress Ruby Dee, Theater Talk presents an encore episode featuring their 2002 interview with Ms. Dee and her husband, actor Ossie Davis, along with Philip Rose, the original producer of A Raisin in the Sun. The trio discuss the early days of bringing Lorraine Hansberry's classic play to the stage. Ms Dee created the role of Lena Younger, the same part that won Sophie Okonedo a 2014 Tony Award, last Sunday.

Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story, an upcoming new musical based on the life and songs of legendary songwriter Bert Berns, begins previews at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center on June 25, 2014, with an official opening night set for July 21, 2014.

Following a successful engagement in Sydney, Australia, Atomic, the new musical based on the creation of the atomic bomb, will make its highly anticipated U.S. premiere with a strictly limited 8-week Off-Broadway engagement from June 26 - August 16 at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). The official opening is set for Sunday, July 13.
