Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere production of Grand Concourse, a play full of both humor and heart by Heidi Schreck. Directed by ensemble member Yasen Peyankov, the cast features ensemble members Francis Guinan and Tim Hopper sharing the role of Frog and Mariann Mayberry as Shelley with Brittany Uomoleale as Emma and Victor Almanzar as Oscar.  Check out a sneak peek below!

The Ohio Wine Festival presented by PNC and Columbus Monthly kicked off its 14th year at the North Market on July 10, and runs through this weekend only.  Twenty local wineries, including award-winners, six additional, and two right from Central Ohio (Signature Wines and RockSide Winery & Vineyard) all offered tastings by the pour, glass, bottle, or case. 

Siblings Vanya (Ross Lehman) and Sonia (Janet Ulrich Brooks) have spent their adult years trapped in mundane lives at their family's cottage, caring for their ailing parents. Meanwhile, their self-involved sister Masha (Mary Beth Fisher), a glamorous movie star, has traveled the world in decadent style. After their soothsayer/cleaning woman Cassandra (E. Faye Butler) warns Vanya and Sonia of impending doom, Masha arrives unannounced, accompanied by her hunky young lover Spike (Jordan Brown), who sparks a friendship with the beautiful girl next door Nina (Rebecca Buller) much to Masha's dismay. When Masha reveals plans that will upend the family, long-repressed resentments bubble over in a weekend full of wild costume parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance. The creative team includes Charlie Corcoran (sets), Amy Clark (costumes), Robert Perry (lights) andRichard Woodbury (sound). Alden Vasquez is the production stage manager and Neena Arndt is the dramaturg. 

Everyone's favorite upside-down fairytale comes to Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) when they present SHREK The Musical, a song-and dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. The world of fairytales will be turned upside down in an all singing, all dancing, and irresistible mix of adventure, laughter and romance beginning July 7, playing thru Sunday, July 19. It's the 20th anniversary of Broadway's tender and funny, smart and sexy Victor/ Victoria and the Ogunquit Playhouse is celebrating by mounting a full-scale glamorous production of the musical comedy, June 24 to July 18, complete with the original Broadway and touring sets designed by Robin Wagner and costumes by Willa Kim.  Check out a first look at highlights below!

Playwright Wendy Graf (No Word In Guyanese for Me) explores the journey of an 'all American girl' (Annika Marksand Jeanne Syquia, alternating) as she develops from innocent youth to radicalized extremist. Anita Khanzadian directs the world premiere of All American Girl for InterACT Theatre Company, which opened July 3 at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood.

A new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA! opened Thursday at the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, directed by Daniel Fish. Let's see what the critics had to say:

Episode 7 of Emma Buchanan and Evatt Salinger's video blog for BroadwayWorld on the way to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York. Buchanan and Salinger, of Durango High School, last month were named Outstanding Actress and Actor at the 2015 Bobby G Awards at the Denver Center. They advance to the national competition, which culminates with a performance on a Broadway stage for The Jimmy Awards in New York City. In this episode, Buchanan and Salinger discuss their experiences rehearsing the opening and closing numbers as well as performing in front of the judges.

Evatt Salinger and Emma Buchanan of Durango High School, who last month were named Outstanding Actor and Actress at the 2015 Bobby G Awards at the Buell Theatre, have represented Colorado this past weekend at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, which culminate tonight (June 29) with announcement of national winners - and a performance by all participants on a Broadway stage in New York City.

Peregrine Theatre Ensemble will be performing its entire 2015 season in the old high school auditorium at Provincetown Schools, 12 Winslow Street in Provincetown, MA. This allows Peregrine to transform the space into Carrie's high school in Chamberlain, Maine. During this interactive theatrical experience they invite the audience to attend prom and fully commit to the world of CARRIE the musical for a night they will never forget.

The Bard SummerScape festival presents an entirely new way to experience Oklahoma!, Rodgers and Hammerstein's quintessential celebration of the American frontier. Starring Damon Daunno,Amber Gray, and two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa, Bard's production is directed by Daniel Fish - "a magical manipulator" (New York Times) - with new musical arrangements for a six-piece Americana band by Henry Hewes Award-winner Daniel Kluger, and new choreography by Jacob's Pillow Dance Award-winner John Heginbotham.

The Segal Centre will close its blockbuster 2014-2015 Theatre Season with The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz: The Musical, a world premiere musical adaptation of Mordecai Richler's novel and the feature film by the same name, from June 7-28, 2015.
