A Parallelogram celebrated its opening night Sunday, July 21, at the Mark Taper Forum. The play, by Bruce Norris, is directed by Anna D. Shapiro. Along with the director Anna D. Shapiro and the cast (Carlo Alban, Marylouise Burke, Marin Ireland and Tom Irwin), check out the video with Michael Chernus, Judy Reyes, Ana Ortiz, Jeff Goldblum, Jimmy Smits and James Franco at the opening night party for "A Parallelogram."

A darkly comic play from the Pulitzer-winning author of "Clybourne Park," Bruce Norris, and the Tony-winning director of "August: Osage County," Anna D. Shapiro, "A Parallelogram" introduces us to Bee, who believes she has the ability to know what happens in the future. With what appears like a little time-bending she sees how her life, and that of her boyfriend and the world at large, will play out. To the increasing concern of those around her, Bee tries to make sense of this new-found knowledge. Should she try to reinvent destiny? Or is the trajectory of life basically unalterable?

Performances run at the Mark Taper Forum at the Music Center, 135 N. Grand Ave. Downtown Los Angeles, Calif. "A Parallelogram" continues through August 18, 2013. Tickets are available in person at the CTG box office, by phone (213) 628-2772 or online at www.CenterTheatreGroup.org.
