Japan Society laments the loss of renowned butoh dance performer and choreographer Kazuo Ohno, one of the movement's founders and pioneers. Ohno died of respiratory failure June 1, 2010, at 4:38 pm (JST), in Japan at the Yokohama Sen-in Hoken Hospital in Yokohama City, at the age of 103.

San Jose Repertory Theatre is proud to present the cast of the award-winning, cotton candy-colored, non-stop pop musical: The Marvelous Wonderettes. High school girls Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy will come to life on stage under the power-packed talents of Holly Davis, Christina DeCicco, Bets Malone and Lowe Taylor. Originating the role of Suzy, Bets Malone traveled with The Marvelous Wonderettes to New York and great success that included the making of an Original Cast Album. In the role of Missy, Lowe Taylor has enjoyed the longest run with The Marvelous Wonderettes, and has performed all four roles.

Casting for the 60th Music Circus season is nearing completion. After auditioning performers in New York, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale is finalizing the acting company for the seven-show season at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The company is expected to include Broadway veterans, including Tony Award nominees, television comedians, up-and-coming young actors and plenty of returning Music Circus favorites. Called 'One of the bravest men in show business' by Jeff Goodman of Time Warner Cable's 'Two On The Aisle' and 'an incredibly engaging and versatile performer' by Duncan Pflaster of Broadway World, Brader returns to The London Fringe, June 17-27, 2010. As part of their Fringe run, JMTC will present a Benefit Show for Women's Community House on Friday, June 25 at 8.15pm. All proceeds from that show will go to WCH.

'NBC Nightly News' anchor and managing editor Brian Williams will report live from the Louisiana Gulf Coast Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. This trip comes five weeks after the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico first began and a week after BP's attempt to stop the flow of oil with a 'top kill.' Williams was the first anchor on the ground in the region after the story broke. This is his 15th trip to the region since Hurricane Katrina.

According to Nielsen Media Research data for the May '10 sweep, 'Meet the Press with David Gregory' was the No. 1 Sunday morning public affairs program averaging 3.002 million total viewers, +21 percent more (+512,000) than second place CBS' 'Face the Nation' 2.490 million, a +35 percent advantage (+783,000) over third place ABC's 'This Week' 2.219 million and a +169 percent lead (+1,884,000) over FOX News Sunday's 1.118 million. 'Meet the Press' has now placed first in total viewers for 50 straight sweeps.
