A Measure of Cruelty (April 19-May 13) is inspired by actual events of 2009 where a 15 year old boy was doused with rubbing alcohol and set on fire by four teenagers, a tragic event that impacted South Florida's local community and touched a nerve in our nation's conscience.

JERSEY BOYS did it again. Ruined a good night's sleep, that's what it did. For this musical, based on the life and careers of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is thrilling, masterful, and certainly unforgettable. I tossed and I turned remembering magical pieces of stage craft, goose bump inducing performances and everything else that makes up this Tony winning Best Musical; indeed one of the best musicals of all time.

Living Out is the story of Nancy and Richard, a family of lawyers living in an affluent section of Los Angeles. They are seeking a "nanny" to look after their newborn daughter. On the other side of town live Ana Hernandez and husband Bobby, two undocumented immigrants from El Salvador who fled their country because of a civil war largely funded by the United States. Ana needs a job that pays enough money to bring her older son, Tomas, to this country, but all her searches as a caregiver end in rejection because she has a child at home. Thus, when Ana meets Nancy, she lies-and says both her boys are in El Salvador. Nancy and Richard overlook Ana's illegal status because they feel the war was immoral.

Infinite Abyss Productions, in association with Empire Stage, to announced it is premiering its first original play, Snow White Trash, in January 2012. Snow White Trash was written by Infinite Abyss principals Erynn Dalton (Producer) and Jeffrey D. Holmes (Artistic Director). According to Dalton, Snow White Trash is “A campy take on the classic Snow White fairytale, like the Fractured Fairy Tales shown after each Rocky and Bullwinkle episode in the 1960s, but naughtier. Jeff and I have always been big fans of camp, Charles Busch style, and thought it was time to get Snow out there!

Set in an unnamed country that is, like the author's native Chile, emerging from a totalitarian dictatorship, the play explores the after-effects of repression on hearts and souls. Since 1992, Alice Tan Ridley has been serenading subways with her incredible and powerful voice. This will be Ann Hampton Callaway's seventh visit since 2002 and Liz Callaway's third engagement since 2005 - but the FIRST TIME that the two have appeared here together. New Theatre (THE NEW) kicks off 2012 with the World Premiere of Winter, by Robert Caisley, running Now thru February 19, 2012, in its new intimate home at The Roxy Performing Art Center. In this witty new play, what begins as a scheduling 'headache' arranging their Mother's funeral, fraternal twins Peter and Christina Winter, evolves into an all-out blood feud between the siblings and their mother's mysterious, young live-in assistant.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced that its popular Lunchbox Theatre Series continues this month with an electrifying look at one of America's most famous icons, Thomas Edison. Perfect for kids of all ages, Thomas Edison: Fire of Genius plays Jan. 20 & 21 at 11am in the Historic Arcade Theatre. The $12 admission price includes the performance, lunch and a post-show workshop.

The young performers in Entr'Acte Theatrix' upcoming production of Godspell are hard at work preparing for their January 12th opening night at the Borland Center, but no one is complaining! In fact, the actors and the production crew are all having a blast. David Mamet is a Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright, known for his own distinct style of dialogue aptly referred to as "Mamet speak". Mamet also directed the Broadway production of Race, which premiered December 2009 starring James Spader, David Alan Grier, Kerry Washington, and Richard Thomas. Gulfshore Playhouse first hit the Naples scene with a production of David Mamet's Oleanna in 2006.

Bob Lappin & The Palm Beach Pops celebrate the great Louis Armstrong with Tony Award Winner Lillias White and renowned trumpeter and vocalist Longineu Parsons to honor the everlasting legacy of this legendary musician. With a six-night South Florida engagement entitled "Wonderful World: A Salute to Louis Armstrong," this concert will run February 6 & 7 at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach, February 8, 10 & 11 at The Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium at FAU, Boca Raton and February 12 at the Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens. Fans will swing to the sounds of classic Armstrong standards such as 'Hello Dolly,' 'Mack the Knife,' and 'Wonderful World,' among many other favorites.
