Florida Repertory Theatre announced the opening of Tru in the Florida Rep Studio Theatre, a devastatingly funny glimpse into the mind of America's icon, Truman Capote. Playing Feb. 22-Mar 17, Tru is a fascinating one-man tour-de-force starring Florida Rep favorite, Mark Chambers, as the controversial author of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and 'In Cold Blood.'

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, will present "The Fantasticks" - known around the globe as the world's longest running musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt - as their summer offering, opening Friday, July 13th (8PM) for a strictly limited engagement at the new Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). Special priced preview performances are slated for July 11th & 12th with regularly scheduled curtain times through August 5th.

This world famous musical group is made up of two groups of brothers: Nicolas and Andre Reyes, the sons of renowned flamenco artist Jose Reyes, and their cousins, Jacques, Maurice and Tonino Baliardo. They are the offspring of Spanish gypsy families that fled to France in the 1930s to escape Spain's Civil War. In 1987, The Gipsy Kings released their debut album which introduced the world to "rumba Gitano" - the sound of South American rhythm married to flamenco guitars. The Gipsy Kings have had a series of international hits, starting with the song "Bamboleo," but at heart they remain gypsies, the proud descendants of an ancient people who seduced the world with music and dance.

Ken Ludwig is an internationally acclaimed playwright whose many hits on Broadway, in London's West End and throughout the world have made his name synonymous with modern comedy. He has had six shows on Broadway and six in the West End, and he has won the Laurence Olivier Award, England's highest theatre honor, as well as three Tony Award nominations and two Helen Hayes Awards. His work has been commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company and has been performed in thirty countries in over twenty languages. Ken Ludwig is also the author of the popular Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo.

Caldwell Theatre Company is set to launch the revamped, updated, and contemporized musical Working, featuring the music of Tony winners, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell),Lin Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Grammy winner James Taylor. The original source material for this unabashedly American musical is based on the novel Working by Studs Terkel.

The sixth and final concert series in The Palm Beach Pops' 20th Anniversary Season, The Magic of Broadway and Disney Favorites will feature Broadway stars Lea Salonga, Tony and Drama Desk Winner, best known as the singing voice in Disney movies and for her leading roles in Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, and 2007 Helen Hayes Award winner David Burnham of Wicked. Six concerts are scheduled beginning March 29, 30 & 31 at The Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium at FAU, Boca Raton, April 1 at the Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens and April 2 & 3 at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach.

The new Broadway musical, COME FLY AWAY, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and by special arrangement with the Frank Sinatra Family and Frank Sinatra Enterprises, will open at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on March 20, 2012.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced the opening of Red, 2010's electrifying and Tony-Winning BEST PLAY from the Oscar-nominated author of The Aviator, Gladiator and Hugo. Red is a provocative portrait of an angry and briliant man, expressionist painter, Mark Rothko. Playing March 6-25 with three nearly sold-out discounted previews on Mar. 6, 7 & 8.

Ever since she replaced Diane Keaton in Hair, becoming the first African-American woman to replace a white actress on Broadway, Melba Moore has been a star. From her Tony Award-winning performance in Purlie to co-starring with Eartha Kitt in Timbuktu to playing Fantine in Les Miserables, she has been an audience favorite along the Great White Way. A regular on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Ms. Moore headlined her own variety show on CBS, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, was the first female pop artist to do a non-operatic solo concert at New York City's Metropolitan Opera House and even had two #1 hit singles on Billboard.

The Waterfront Playhouse will open the Broadway musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" on Thursday, March 8th. This Tony Award-winning musical is the jubilant and touching story of a group of prepubescent overachievers who are pitted against one another in the spelling challenge of a lifetime. The New York Times raved that "Spelling Bee" is "irresistible, riotously funny and remarkably ingenious - gold stars all around!"

There is much to be said about a play that kept me thinking for hours. Indeed, HIGH kept me and my theater going companion arguing about the play for well over an hour. For HIGH is a play which works on many levels. Often, it is not easy to tell who is truly good and truly bad, as well as raising and perhaps answering some questions about the Catholic Church. However, unquestionably, HIGH serves as a platform for great actors. Great actors working their craft are onstage in HIGH at the Parker Playhouse, great actors to say the least.

Based on the film BILLY ELLIOT, this musical is about dreams, acceptance, and winning against the struggles life may throw our way. BILLY ELLIOT is often reminiscent of A CHORUS LINE, and that is an awesome show to be reminiscent of.

Returning to the Royal Room for the first time since 2007, Tom Wopat first came to public attention in the late-1970s as the freewheeling Luke Duke on the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. In 1977, he made his Broadway debut in Cy Coleman's I Love My Wife. Wopat went on to perform in the Tony Award-winning City of Angels and Guys and Dolls. He received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun, opposite Bernadette Peters.

Writer Billy Palmer is about to crash and burn! His musical adaptation of Top Gun is going off the rails and Billy really needs a hit. Instead he is saddled with a quarrelling cast, a shady ex-Navy Seal producer, and a bit of bad luck. Now if everyone would only stop singing. Top Gun! The Musical was the most successful show in the history of the Toronto Fringe Festival, playing to sell out crowds and unanimously good reviews.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County presents a special two-night-only engagement showcasing the critically-acclaimed dance troupe, PILOBOLUS dance theatre. Two-time Golden Globe winner, Academy Award & Tony Award nominee Kathleen Turner will make her Fort Lauderdale stage debut in the National Tour of Matthew Lombardo's play HIGH, February 29-March 4, 2012 at The Parker Playhouse. Directed by Rob Ruggiero, HIGH also features Evan Jonigkeit as 'Cody Randall' and Timothy Altmeyer as 'Father Michael Delpapp'.

On Wednesday, February 29, 2012, Tony Award winner Roger Rees will perform his one-man show, What You Will in a special appearance at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF. Rees replaces Brian Bedford, who, due to scheduling conflicts, will be unable to perform his one-man show, The Lunatic, The Lover and the Poet, as previously announced.
