A REGULAR LITTLE HOUDINI is a beautiful, award-winning tour-de-force performance about hope and magic amidst the harsh reality of working class life in Edwardian Britain.
This magical one-man show is set in Newport, Wales at the turn of the last century and tells the touching coming of age story of Alan, a dockworker’s son. The boy dreams of a career as a magician, of emulating his hero, Harry Houdini’s death defying stunts – although following one’s dream is difficult when poverty weighs you down like mud. With a head full of magic, Alan witnesses one of the most terrifying events of British industrial history, as his personal journey collides with the great Houdini himself.
