"Joe Bleakley is a ‘retired’ actor who reached for the stars but never got much further than mediocrity. Recently arrived in the Foggadieu Retirement Village, Joe decides that he will stage a performance for the other residents and puts together a selection of his favourite speeches from some of the great roles he never got to play.
Throughout the course of this one-man show, you will be treated to excerpts from King Lear, Teahouse of the August Moon, and nuggets of wisdom from Neil Simon, Eugene O’Neill and Oscar Hammerstein II. In between we learn of Joe’s troubled relationship with his daughter, his two failed marriages and his disappointment at never having quite ‘made it’ as an actor. All peppered with humorous anecdotes, jokes, songs and observations about life, family and getting older."
