Sydney Theatre Company presents Who's The Best?
Devised and performed by post
Wharf 2, Sydney Theatre Company, Pier 4, Hickson Road, Walsh BayThe second production of Sydney Theatre Company's 2011 Next Stage program is Who's The Best?, an exploration of the nature of competition from the acclaimed performance collective, post. Performances are at The Wharf from 17 June to 2 July 2011, opening on Monday 20 June.In Who's The Best? post are on a mission to settle an ongoing debate - which one of the three of them is actually the best? They've devised a system, but the criteria keeps changing. They've done Dolly quizzes, enneagram tests, underwear comparisons, hand-eye coordination assessments, voting, debates and pie charts. A contest of identity with no end point, no rules and no real meaning. It's only about winning.Drawing on stand-up comedy, visual arts practice and physical theatre, post is comprised of Mish Grigor, Zoe Coombs Marr and Natalie Rose. Their recent shows include Gifted and Talented, Shamelessly Glitzy Work and Everything I Know about the Global Financial Crisis in One Hour, last year's collaboration with version 1.0 as part of the double bill A Distressing Scenario.
Who's The Best? was developed through STC's Rough Drafts program. Next Stage, Sydney Theatre Company's artform development strand presented in Wharf 2 throughout 2011, features the work of emerging artists while offering distinctly different experiences to the Company's Main Stage program.
