Red Stitch Actors' Theatre celebrates the 25th anniversary of Michael Gow's tightly wound, masterful play Sweet Phoebe.
Successful Sydney couple Helen and Frazer have it all worked out. Together. Supportive of one another, they're taking all the steps towards great mutual success. So surely they can deal with dog-sitting Phoebe even if they'd rather not.
But when disaster strikes, they are forced to leave their bubble, and engage with a version of the world and themselves that they would prefer did not exist.
From one of our most acclaimed writers, this modern Australian classic is bitingly funny and quietly disturbing.
Mark Wilson (Bighouse Dreaming, Anti-Hamlet, Unsex Me) directs Olivia Monticciolo (Splendour, Blessed, Bell Shakespeare's Phedre) and Marcus McKenzie (Anti-Hamlet, The Great Fire, Hyperspirit, Apokalypsis), with set and costume design by Laura Hawkins, lighting by Lisa Mibus, and sound and composition by Dan Nixon.
