Live Radio Play SUPER SPEEDY SOUND SHED Set for The Famous Spiegeltent

By:

Kids and families can bizz, bop, bleep and bang in The Famous Spiegeltent with thelive radio play Super Speed Sound Shed. Part of the lineup for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and playing in The Famous Spiegeltent on Arts Centre Melbourne's Forecourt from Wednesday 3 - Sunday 7 April, Super Speedy Sound Shed is a live radio play adventure where the audience and performers create and explore the crazy world of sound effects.

Maddie and Sam Siddlepop are on a mission to make their dad the best birthday present ever! They've got a hammer and some glue - in fact they have everything they need except for a plop, a whiz, a squelch, a burp, a fart, and a whirr! Super Speedy Sound Shed is a thoroughly interactive radio romp, in which the soundtrack will be created live on-stage, and is certain to challenge even the most versatile voice boxes.

Award-winning multimedia producer Laura Milke Garner returns to Arts Centre Melbourne to introduce young audiences to the wonder of radio plays. Written by local comedienne Kate McLennan, who recently performed her critically acclaimed debut stand-up show Homeward Bound for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

The development of Super Speedy Sound Shed has been commissioned by Arts Centre Melbourne for its 2013 Families and Youth Program. Designed to engage children and their families in the exciting world of the performing arts. The program provides opportunities for kids aged 0 - 12 and their families to interact, connect and discover the arts together.

The Super Speedy Sound Shed team are also holding Now Hear This - A Live Sound Effects Workshop in Arts Centre Melbourne's Digital Learning Hub from Wednesday 3 - Friday 5 April.
