Marcus Graham and Sacha Horler are confirmed to appear in Sydney Theatre Company's production of God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. Gale Edwards directs the brutally funny satire at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House from 3 October to 14 November, opening Thursday 8 October 2009.

Four terribly civilised parents meet to discuss a playground fracas between their children. The evening starts civilly enough but as the façade of gentility slips away, accusations and recriminations hurtle like missiles between them. The author of Art and Life x 3 dares The Audience to look beyond individual conflicts to the source of our constant embattlement.

Sacha Horler, who will play Veronica, recently appeared in Sydney Theatre Company's production of The Removalists by David Williamson. Her other work with the company has included roles in Caryl Churchill's Far Away, Chekhov's Three Sisters and HAnnie Rayson's Life After George. She appears in the soon to be released feature film, My Year Without Sex.

Marcus Graham, who will play Alan, last worked with Sydney Theatre Company in 2002's The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Other recent theatre credits include Jerry Springer - The Opera at Sydney Opera House and last year's Tartuffe for Malthouse Theatre. He will also soon be seen in Bell Shakespeare's Pericles.

Jeremy Sims, previously announced to appear in the show as Michael, has unfortunately had to withdraw. A major film project with Sims as director and producer was due to be completed prior to rehearsals but, due to financing issues, has been delayed. To allow this significant project to proceed, Sydney Theatre Company has released Sims from his contract with every best wish for the success of the film.

Further casting for God of Carnage will be released soon.
