Internationally acclaimed human rights lawyer and intellectual Geoffrey Robertson QC will bring his famed passion and charisma, showcased in his television series Hypotheticals, to Arts Centre Melbourne's Hamer Hall in the world premiere of his first live show Dreaming Too Loud.

Robertson heads to Australia from leading Europe's largest civil liberties practice for a national tour with a one night only performance at Hamer Hall on 6 May. Filled with Robertson's unique brand of occasionally outrageous observation and candid wit, Dreaming Too Loud will feature compelling archival footage as well as personal stories and revelations, providing a rare and compelling new insight into one of our most significant national figures.

Head of the Doughty Street Chambers, now Europe's largest human rights practice, Robertson has appeared as a defence counsel in some of the most high profile cases in recent history. He has written thirteen books and hosted the extremely successful television series Geoffrey Robertson's Hypotheticals.

Some of his recent cases include the representation of Julian Assange in extradition proceedings in the UK, the representation of Armenia with barrister Amal Clooney at the European Court of Human Rights in the Perinçek v. Switzerland case as well as several human rights missions on behalf of Amnesty International.

Robertson is married to Australian-British author Kathy Lette and they have two children.

He will touch on his highlights and lowlights, the many iconic moments and the public and private events that have marked his life's extraordinary trajectory.With his trademark intelligence, humour and humanity, Geoffrey Robertson's first one-man show will be a beguiling mix of gravitas and intellectual larrikinism.

By telling the story through the prism of his passions he hopes to show the private truths behind the well-known public face.
