Arts Centre Melbourne Announces The Performance Enhancers Series

Some of Australia's best independent music artists including David Bridie, Robert Forster, Archie Roach and Kavisha Mazzella will converse and perform live music in a series of very special events hosted by music journalists Lisa Palermo and Kate Welsman aka Systa bb. The Performance Enhancers will showcase each artist discussing their artistic influences amongst the intimate setting of the Arts Centre Melbourne's Hamer Hall Stalls Foyer across four dates from 9 February to 18 May. Each event will also include displays of visual references of the artist's influences, which range from mythology to visual art and literature.

The quiet achiever of Australian music and seven time ARIA award winning song writer and composer David Bridie will reference the work of Peter Cook's "Wake in Fright" PatRick White's "Voss", the art of FrEd Williams and the landscapes of John Olsen at 5pm Saturday 9 February. David will be joined by guitarist John Philips and cello Helen Mountford in an exclusive trio.
Robert Forster, best known as front man for The Go-Betweens will share his love of the '60s and '70s New York arts scene at 5pm Saturday 2 March.

Australia's beloved Aboriginal singer and songwriter Archie Roach, shares his thoughts on Lin Onus at 5pm Saturday 6 April.

ARIA award winner and recipient of the Order of Australia for her service to the Performing arts, Italian songbird Kavisha Mazzella will discus the art of Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Goya at 5pm Saturday 18 May.

The Performance Enhancers series is part of ongoing programming of Hamer Hall's public spaces, which aims to illuminate the creative process and increase cultural debate and dialogue about the arts in the community.
Last year's inaugural Performance Enhancers series saw Steve Kilbey discuss mythology, Henry Wagons Plato and Cormac Macarthy, Vika and Linda the paintings of Gauguin and Clare Bowditch The Ballet Russes.
