There won't be any "Bah! Humbug!" this December at the Festival Theatre only a 'good ol' fashioned Christmas as the Adelaide Festival Centre's Christmas Proms has a Dickensian theme, with special guests Rhonda Burchmore and PJ Lane on 17 and 18 December.

From television to the big screen, musical theatre to opera to cabaret, there are few entertainment mediums that Rhonda Burchmore has not embraced with her wide ranging talents. A performer since the age of two, throughout her career Rhonda has made a distinctive impression on audiences with her dazzling dance steps, superb comic timing, effervescent personality, super-model looks and not least of all, her stunning voice. Rhonda will bring more than a touch of glamour to this year's Christmas Proms, joined on stage with PJ Lane.

The son of an entertainment legend Don Lane, it is said that 'showbiz' is in PJ's genes, but from wherever it came it is undisputedly there! PJ has performed in front of a live audience of over 90,000 at Woolworths Carols in the Domain, performed live on Mornings with Kerri-Anne, and is currently a featured presenter on Channel 7's Sydney Weekender. With evident show business 'chutzpah', warmth and infectious charm, PJ together with Rhonda make a dynamic combination and will sing some of their favourite carols including Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Let It Snow, and a beautiful duet rendition of the ever-popular White Christmas. And it wouldn't be Christmas without the mention of Rudolph and a snowflake or two.

Making their return will be the ever-popular 34-piece Adelaide Art Orchestra, and 16-voice Adelaide Vocal Project, conducted by Timothy Sexton, with the beloved Festival Theatre Silver Jubilee Organ once again making a guest appearance, played by Peter Kelsall.

There will be more than "A Christmas Carol" actually quite a few including Once in Royal David's City, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Angels From The Realms of Glory and this year the audience can join in singing one of the favourite carols of all time Silent Night. A special feature this year will be a performance by the Mount Torrens Hand-bell Ringers, made up of students from both the Spring Head Trinity Lutheran Primary School and Mount Torrens Primary School and plenty of laughs along the way with clowns Moose and Boppa!

So don't be a "Scrooge" bring the whole family and get along to this year's Christmas Proms and celebrate the spirit of Christmas, presented by the Adelaide Festival Centre and performance partner, Wallmans Lawyers.
