Adelaide Festival Centre and National Pharmacies announce the much anticipated 2013 Something on Saturday season, which this year celebrates its 36th year. The program runs every Saturday from 4 May to 7 September.

Adelaide Festival Centre's Something on Saturday program continues to delight and entertain more than 15,000 people every year, with many South Australian children enjoying their first theatrical experience through the program.

The 2013 program is as big as ever and covers everything from live music, acrobatics, storytelling, magic and philosophy, ballet, crazy dances from the past, comedy, science, puppetry, circus skills, orchestral music and musical theatre. Kids are encouraged to sing, dance and have fun as some old favourites return to perform again, in addition to a selection of some of the finest children's artists from New Zealand, Switzerland, Africa, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Tickets are on sale from today 12 March to subscribers who purchase tickets to four or more shows, and tickets go on sale to single ticket purchasers from 2 April. Performances always sell out, so patrons are encouraged to book quickly to avoid disappointment.

To kick-start this year's Something on Saturday season with a bang, the kids will be cackling as acclaimed comedian Jason Chong brings movies to life in this high tech comedy adventure Where's the remote?

Further highlights from this year's program include:

· New Zealand children's author Craig Smith returns after last year's sell-out performances, don't miss him as he sings and reads his multi award-winning bestselling book The Wonky Donkey. You will soon understand why this hanky-panky, cranky, stinky-dinky, lanky, honky-tonky, winky, wonky donkey is so popular!

· Don't miss your chance to jump through a chalk drawing and dance on the rooftops of London with local favourites the Australian Classical Youth Ballet's production of Mary Poppins starring TV's Brenton Whittle and Book Worm as narrators along with popular children's entertainer Michael Mills as Mr Daws and some of the best young ballet dancers in Adelaide.

· Circus and acrobatic fans will be delighted as The ZimboyZ take to the stage, three amazing African acrobats will take your breath away with gravity defying performances, human pyramids and chair balancing that will leave you speechless. Whilst Adelaide's premier youth circus company Cirkidz will astound you in their performance of Sputnikz inspired by Antoine de Saint Exupery's timeless classic Le Petit Prince.

· Musical performances are again at the forefront of the program. Cradle Songs by Karin Schaupp is strictly for babes in arms 0 - 10months, these beautiful guitar lullabies will cocoon your little ones in gentle melodies; while Adelaide's own world-class Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will perform Soundscapes - well-known classical works inspired by nature that will feed their brains and imaginations and soothe their souls.

· The program wouldn't be complete without a big dose of singing and dancing, the toddlers and the schoolkids can go crazy in SOS Dance Crazes where they'll learn fun dance moves like the Macarena and the Twist!

The Foundation Kids Corner popular craft workshops will remain a mainstay thanks to the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation, which is committed to inspiring and stimulating young people with a great selection of fun activities each week, and best of all they're FREE!

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director Douglas Gautier says, "Congratulations to Something On Saturday as the program celebrates its 36th year!
