Austin Bollywood Cultural Association (ABCA) will present an energetic evening of live music and entertainment, with the internationally renowned Bollywood duo music director and composer, Vishal and Shekhar.
About Austin Bollywood Cultural Association (ABCA):
Launched in 2014 by Bollywood lovers in Austin, ABCA aims to connect all fans in Texas, from all communities, cultures, and businesses, via Bollywood themed events each year.
Today, Bollywood is the biggest film industry in the world. Its growing popularity across the world has brought the Indian film culture in the mainstream. Bollywood “filmi” music is now heard around the world and Indian movie stars are appearing in Hollywood movies and American TV shows.
Austin, TX has been on the global forefront of music for a while now, in a wide set of genres. ABCA aims to add to this diversity by bringing the best of Bollywood entertainment to our city.
(All proceeds raised by ABCA are used, after expenses, strictly for supporting local aspiring artists, talents, and related charities.)
About the Artists, Vishal & Shekhar:
Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ranjiani need no introduction! Vishal-Shekhar are a music directing duo consisting of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjan, for Bollywood produced Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi films. Not too many musicians in Bollywood can boast of a discography that is as impressive as composer duo Vishal-Shekhar’s. They are currently the most talented and respected music directing duo that Bollywood has ever seen. Having received numerous awards and recognitions, you may recognize them as judges on the star hunt show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge.
They have had a number of successes including Jhankaar Beats, Om Shanti Om, Salaam Namaste, Dus, Bluffmaster, Tashan, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Dostana, Anjaana Anjaani, Ra.One and more.
Vishal-Shekhar will be the World’s first ever musicians to perform for a live audio concert which will be accessible on mobile phones and the internet. They are excited to be the pioneer in the show which may put them in the Guinness Book Of World Records. Following the terror attacks on Mumbai on 26 November 2008, Vishal Dadlani launched a petition to ban live media coverage during the rescue operations. They are also the composers behind the Kailash Kher’s song “Allah Ke Bande” from Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II
