TexARTS will have you doing backflips for the upcoming Musical Theatre Academy productions slated to hit the Kam & James Morris Theatre this spring season!

April 11-12 & 18-19, 2015?
Bring It On: The Musical

Two squads, one mission: claim the title at the National Cheerleading Championships. Inspired by the film, Bring It On: The Musical takes the audience on a high-flying journey filled with the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness. The show, featuring 23 members of the TexARTS Teen Musical Theatre Academy, tells the story of the challenges and unexpected bonds formed through the thrill of extreme competition.

The musical comedy made its Broadway debut in 2012 at the St. James Theatre. The production earned Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Choreography, and The New York Times called it, "Impossible to resist!"

The production is directed by M. Scott Tatum (Zilker Summer Musical's Oklahoma) and music directed by John Vander Gheynst. Shows run April 11-12 & 18-19 at 1pm and April 11 & 18 at 6pm.

April 25-26 & May 2-3, 2015
Into the Woods Jr.

Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the Witch all meet in this whimsical Stephen Sondheim musical. Featuring members of the TexARTS Youth Musical Theatre Academy. Directed by Natalia Luna (TexARTS' Aladdin Jr.) Shows run April 25-26 & May 2-3 at 2pm and April 25 and May 2 at 6pm.
