SXSW 2017 COVERAGE: Austin Music Awards Honor Local Austin Talent
Awards, awards, and more awards. That's what the Austin Music Awards were all about last night. Sponsored by the Austin Chronicle, and held at Austin City Limits, the awards are a chance for Austin talent to be recognized for talent in many different categories of music. Not only were there awards presented, but music was in abundance. Some performances included music by Kat Edmonson, The Bluebonnets, Terry Allen, Joe Ely, Lukas Nelson, Lyle Lovett, The Trishas and many other Austin musicians. The show opened with a special performance by The New Generation Children's Choir. Mayor Steve Adler was also in attendance and reminded the audience of his commitment to the rich live music industry in Austin. Mayor Adler is a strong proponent of the music industry and fully supports all musicians' endeavors in the area.
Check out some of the highlights.
