Paradox Players to Present NEW JERUSALEM at Howson Hall Theater, 10/11-27

By:

Paradox Players with present New Jerusalem, written by David Ives and directed by Gary Payne, October 11 - 27 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at Howson Hall Theater.

The Jews of Amsterdam have made a fatal arrangement with the city, agreeing to police their own community for unorthodox beliefs in return for safe harbor. The young Spinoza (who would go on to be one of history's greatest philosophers) is accused of atheism and summoned to the synagogue to defend himself. This eloquent and masterful drama opens the temple doors to listen in on a dispute whose philosophical and political echoes still reverberate today.

Tickets $25 Opening Night Gala: Friday, October 11 (includes post show reception with refreshments). $20 all other performances, $15 Seniors and groups of 10 or more, $10 Students.

For reservations, call (512) 744-1495 or visit paradoxplayers.org.
