A 30-member cast will appear in the Hill Country Community Theatre's summer musical Annie Get Your Gun.

Based on the life of sharpshooter Annie Oakley, Annie Get Your Gun is directed by Wendy Ferrell, with music direction by Les Young, and choreography by Virginia Shoemake. "We have a very iconic show that we are tasked with producing," said Ferrell. "Everyone in the cast and crew is doing a fantastic job and having so much fun. This is going to be a hit!"

The musical, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, written by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, tells the story of the legendary Annie Oakley, the best shot around. Buffalo Bill persuades this sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. She falls for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show, and soon eclipses him. Butler joins a rival show but is pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The show features timeless hits like "Anything You Can Do," "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun," and the song that has become the anthem of all things theatre: "There's No Business Like Show Business."

Annie Get Your Gun will be presented at the Hill Country Community Theatre, 4003 W FM 2147, Cottonwood Shores, TX 78657. The show will open on July 21 and run through July 31. Performances will be on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 2:15 PM.

Admission is $25 for adults and $12 for children and students with a valid ID. Reservations can be made by calling (830) 798-8944, online atwww.theHCCT.org, or at the box office (12:00 noon to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday) beginning April 11 for HCCT members and April 14 for the general public.
