Different Stages' PYGMALION to Open 6/27

Different Stages closes its 2013-2014 season with Pygmalion, Shaw's most popular modern masterpiece, perhaps best known as the inspiration for the musical My Fair Lady. The poor flower-seller Eliza Doolittle is in the right place at the right time, just as speech professor Henry Higgins makes a friendly wager that he can change her accent and pass her off as the epitome of English society. But will she survive Higgins' bullying? PYGMALION is the funny, touching, unforgettable battle of wits between two of the theatre's most iconic characters.

Directed by Norman Blumensaadt (Arsenic and Old Lace) Pygmalion features Tom Chamberlain (Good People) and Amy Lewis (The Skin of Our Teeth) as Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle. Craig Kanne (Quills) and Bobbie Oliver (Mornings at Seven) play Colonel Pickering and Mrs Higgins. Andy Brown (Arsenic and Old Lace) plays the dustman Alfred Doolitte. Phoebe Greene (You Can't Take it with You) Sarah Danko (Arsenic and Old Lace) and Curtis Allmon (Blood Wedding) play the Eynsford-Hill family. Kate Trammell (Streetcar Named Desire) and Grayson Little (Last Meeting of the Knights of the White Magnolia) and Sebastian Garcia (Arsenic and Old Lace) round out the cast.

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. No performance on Friday July 4, and added performance on Wednesday July 16. Tickets are Pick your Price: $15, $20, $25, and $30.
