ZOMBIE To Be Screened At Atlanta Film Fest 9/16

ZOMBIE, the film based on the novella by famous best-selling author Joyce Carol Oates, and starring Bill Connington, will be screened at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival on September 16th at 6:30 pm, as part of Independent Film Month in Atlanta. It will take place at the Art Center at 1200 Foster Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Tickets are $5 per screening, $10 for a Day Pass, and $25 for an All Access Pass. (www.atlantahorrorfilmfest.com)

ZOMBIE has been an official selection at 9 film festivals so far. The film won "Best Short Film (Horror) at the Washington DC Independent Film Festival. It is nominated for 5 awards: Best Actor, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, and Best Dramatic Short Film at the upcoming Terror Film Festival in Philadelphia. It has been screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival, the Boston International Film Festival, the NYC Downtown Shorts Festival, and is scheduled for the Williamsburg International Film Festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and the Shriekfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles. The critics have lauded Bill Connington for his shockingly realistic acting in ZOMBIE. He has collected numerous awards for his portrayal of a mild-mannered serial killer. Noted for his versatility, Connington can also be seen in the comic film THE THORNHILLS OF PARK AVENUE playing an upscale Society investment banker, searching for the meaning of life. THE THORNHILLS is also traveling the film festival circuit, and will be screened at the Somewhat North of Boston Film Festival on September 17th. (www.snobfilmfestival.com)

The director of both ZOMBIE and THE THORNHILLS is Thomas Caruso. The composer for both films is Deirdre Broderick. The Director of Photography for ZOMBIE is Trisha Solyn, and the producer of the film is Michael Cooper. Connington's co-stars in THE THORNHILLS OF PARK AVENUE are Juliette Bennett and Anthony Haden-Guest.

The Atlanta Horror Film Festival is part of Atlanta's Independent Film Month, which runs the entire month of September, and presents over 300 films at a series of film festivals and related events. The events include: Atlanta Shortsfest, Atlanta Horror Film Festival, DocuFest Atlanta, Animation Attack!, and Atlanta Underground Film Festival. Independent Film Month strives to present the best of cinema from around the world.
