Rockapella To Perform With Atlanta Symphony

By: Sep. 23, 2011

Pop vocal group Rockapella will join Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to kick off the Orchestra's Delta SuperPOPS series October 14 and 15, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Rockapella is best known for their appearances on the popular PBS children's show -Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? To this day, the show's theme song is still the group's most downloaded song. At Atlanta Symphony Hall, they will perform songs from a variety of genres - including jazz,
rock, pop, and hip-hop.

-We make it rock and make it interesting, Scott Leonard, the group's chief songwriter and arranger has said.

-It is not just about the pretty notes and the nice singing, John K. Brown, a tenor with the group, has said. -It is a whole thing: the presence we give off, the little comedy bits, the timing and interacting, both during and after the show.

Single tickets for these performances are $20 to $59. All single tickets for the 2011-2012 season are
