Atlanta Fringe Festival to Host Easter Art Hunt in Springvale Park

By: Mar. 04, 2016
The Atlanta Fringe Festival is thrilled to announce the return of the ever-popular Easter Art Hunt, where, like so many Easter eggs, pieces of art will be hidden and free to whoever finds them. This year's event, which is 100% free for art lovers of all ages, will take place on Saturday, March 19 in Springvale Park and feature live New Orleans-style funk from Atlanta's own Wasted Potential Brass Band. As in years past, the hidden artwork will come from local artists, with previous hunts boasting pieces by local favorites Catlanta, Evereman, and R. Land.

This event is usually packed so attendees are encouraged to arrive early, dress comfortably and be ready to run, if necessary. The hunt will begin at 2PM in Springvale Park with live music kicking off at 2:30 PM. The hunt will begin at the north end of Springvale Park, by Elizabeth Street at Waverly Way NE (plenty of free neighborhood parking is available.)

"This is one of the most fun things we get to do and we just love seeing all these different artists and families coming together for a fun afternoon in the sun," explains AFF Executive Director Diana Brown. "The Atlanta art community has always been so generous to us, and getting Wasted Potential Brass Band out to get everybody's booty shaking is gonna be incredible!"

Artists who would like to donate pieces of any size to the hunt can drop them off at the Hodgepodge Coffee House, 720 Moreland Ave, during their normal business hours: Monday - Saturday, 7 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Artists can also arrange donation by emailing atlantafringefestival@gmail.com. All artwork will need to be handed in by Wednesday, March 16.
