Around the Rings Editor Ed Hula to Appear on BBC Radio During 2012 London Games

By:

ATR Editor Ed Hula will appear on BBC Radio 4's afternoon news program "PM" with presenter Eddie Mair during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

"I'm looking forward to contributing an out-of-town perspective to this important BBC news program," Hula said. "Expectations are high for London given its great Olympic history and the exciting backdrop this city provides for the Games. Few cities could do it better."

The London Games will be the 11th Hula has covered. Barcelona1992 was his first Summer Games.

JoAnna Carr, "PM"s editor, says, "We're delighted to have Ed sharing his two decades worth of Olympic knowledge and insight with the program. Alongside our other guests, Ed will help provide our listeners with the informative and entertaining coverage they expect."

"PM" is broadcast 5 to 6pm Monday through Friday and 5 to 5.30pm on Saturdays. The program recently triumphed at the Sony Awards – the Oscars of the UK radio industry – winning two gold awards. Hula will join Mair, former Olympian Steve Parry and Olympic marketing and brand specialist Karen Webb on a regular Olympics panel, beginning July 27. The program can be found on the BBC website.

Around the Rings will field its biggest Olympic team ever for London. Correspondents and photographers will provide employ all media platforms for its around-the-clock coverage: the ATR website, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, mobile app and print. ATR news apps can be found in the Samsung London2012 app store already loaded on new Galaxy III S phones and tablets in Europe, or by visiting the Samsung App Store at http://www.SamsungApps.com.

ATR will again publish eight printed daily editions of London Latest, continuing a tradition that started in Sydney 2000.
