terraNOVA Collective will present ONES AT TEN on Friday nights during THE 6TH ANNUAL soloNOVA ARTS FESTIVAL, celebrating solo arts into the wee hours with music, comedy, and spoken word. These late night parties extend the festival to encompass solo performers outside of the Mainstage solo shows.

"We are very excited to have all aspects of solo arts under one roof," said lead curator, James Carter. "People can come and see a Mainstage show at the DR2 Theatre and stay for drinks and music in the D-Lounge afterward. It's a great addition to the festival."

Friday, May 8 is Music Night and will feature musical performances by Amy Soucy, Brent Shuttleworth, Brendan O'Hara, and Corn Mo with DJ Reganomics on the decks.

AMY SOUCY
Born in small town New Hampshire and raised in the wintery suburbs of Detroit, Amy began singing and performing at an early age in choirs and youth theater. After becoming one of the first graduates of Michigan's only magnet school for the performing arts, she went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theater Performance, and continued to "multi-task" as an actor/singer/dancer on tour, regionally and in the dark dusty theaters of New York City. Gifted with a versatile, charismatic voice, Amy has performed and recorded with a variety of NY artists whose music stretches across genres and reflects the diversity of the city itself: from folk, to jazz, to pop, to cabaret and plain old rock and roll. Always compelled to express the longings of the human heart through song, Amy began playing guitar and writing original songs ten years ago. In October 2008, Amy formed a harmonious partnership with Catskills' singer/songwriter James Krueger, and their musical travels have taken them from house concerts, to listening rooms, to community centers, to Florida public radio! Most recently, they've been selected to participate in the Platte Clove Artists-in-Residency program in October 2009.

BRENT SHUTTLEWORTH
In just a short time, Brent Shuttleworth has become one of most sought-after musical acts in the northeast. With his unparalleled live show, Shuttleworth has floored audiences and critics from Cape Town, South Africa to New York City. Shuttleworth has shared the stage with such artists as: George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, Pete Yorn, Immortal Technique, Maya Azucena, Pete Rock and Saul Williams. last fall Shuttleworth released a live EP to a sold-out show at the legendary Bitter End in New York City and earlier this year had another sold out show at New York's Zipper Factory to release his debut Album Witness.

BRENDAN O'HARA
Brendan O'Hara makes music that's meant to move the masses. Whether it's out of their seats and onto the dance floor or into the streets to stand up for things worth fighting for, movement is, and always will be, what it's all about. A versatile singer/songwriter, Brendan also plays the piano, guitar, harmonica, percussion, and even beat boxes while delivering cleverly calculated lyrics and simple honest hymns. The vocal approach is soulful, yet straightforward, and at times spoken with spitfire articulation. Embracing many genres- - jazz, blues, folk-rock, and hip-hop -- Brendan has created a style all his own. The Miami Beach-based artist performs regularly along the Eastern Seaboard - comfortable on stage as an ingratiating solo storyteller or a brash badass bandleader. When backed by The Big Bounce, a beat boxer and a rotating cast of upright bassists, trumpeters and tap dancers, Brendan O'Hara's band is a blend of big sound and irresistible charm. With a repertoire of original music and an occasional cover that's modified to fit the mood of the room, Brendan O'Hara and The Big Bounce treat their audience to a wide variety of styles while remaining an act all their own. When solo, the show becomes a blend of humor, political observation and self-reflection that creates a backdrop for many very honest moments. Brendan O'Hara has played some of the most famous stages in the United States, including: The Bitter End (NYC), CBGBs (NYC), ELLA (NYC), The Living Room (NYC), The Alphabet Lounge (NYC), The Sidewalk Cafe (NYC), The Stone Pony (Asbury Park, The Florida Room at The Delano (Miami Beach), Churchill's (Miami), Revolution (Fort Lauderdale), Jazid (Miami), Purdy Lounge (Miami), The Electric Pickle (Miami), O'Hara's Jazz Bistro (Hollywood), The Good Hurt (LA) The Rodeo-Ristra Lounge (Hoboken) The Rainbow Room (Seattle) EMP Liquid Lounge (Seattle) Satyricon (Portland) Club M (Hollywood).

Corn Mo
Corn Mo played in a jazz band. Then a country band. Then did a recording session for a Kentucky Fried Chicken song contest in another country band. Then a rock band called Illusion. Then a metal band called Without Warning. Then another metal band called Tiruth. And then, he found the accordion. And then he joined a juggling troupe and provided the soundtrack. And then he played with another fellow named Mauve Oed. And then Mauve Oed left. Then, he joined an art rock band called The Dooms UK. And then he left. And then he started 357 Lover which became the band of what he tried to do solo. And then decided to keep doing both. And then he joined a sideshow circus called The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. And then he started touring and having adventures. And then he joined the Polyphonic Spree and toured with David Bowie. And then he left the Polyphonic Spree. And then he did shows with David Cross, Ben Folds, and They Might Be Giants. And its been awesome. And it keeps getting better.

terraNOVA Collective is a vibrant playground for artists devoted to innovative new and original theatrical works. Its multi-layered development process, solo arts festivals, and productions serve to nurture and liberate our community.
