Three-time Tony Award winner Stewart F. Lane once again graces the theater with his new production of IN THE WINGS which is now playing at the Promenade Theatre (2162 Broadway at 76th Street). IN THE WINGS is a backstabbing backstage romance set in 1977.
IN THE WINGS tells the story of Steve (he's Jewish) and Melinda (she's not), two aspiring actors in love with each other and the theatre. They get their big break when they are cast in a new musical, "I Married A Communist", written by their svengali-like acting teacher Bernardo. But when the show moves to Broadway, only Melinda is asked to move with it. Can love stay alive on the Great White Way ?
Emmy nominee Peter Scolari (TV's Bosom Buddies, Newhart and Broadway's Sly Fox and Hairspray ) joins a delightful cast including , Lisa Datz (The Full Monty, Titanic), Brian Henderson (As You Like It), Josh Prince (Forbidden Broadway, Little Me), and Emmy and Obie Award-winning actress and veteran comedienne Marilyn Sokol (Guilt Without Sex, Grease!).
