According to London's The Sun, two cast members of Andrew Lloyd Webber's London revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat were injured during rehearsals..

"The West End show — starring Lee Mead, 25, winner of BBC1's 'Any Dream Will Do' — was plunged into chaos when a giant piece of moving scenery crushed their feet...An insider said: 'There is a lot of mechanical scenery and the cast have to get out of the way. But two people didn't move quickly enough and had their feet crushed by a mechanical staircase.  Everyone was really shocked.' One of the actors is already back in rehearsals, the other returns next week," states the article.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat begins previews on July 6th and opens on July 18th at the Adelphi Theatre.  It is playing an extended booking period through June 7th, 2008.  Star Mead, who will play the title role, was selected to play the title role of the revival through Webber's UK television talent search "Any Dream Will Do."

Andrew Lloyd Webber's revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will also star Preeya Kalidas as the Narrator, Dean Collinson as Pharaoh and Stephen Tate as Jacob/Potiphar/Guru.  John Alastair, Kate Alexander, Jennifer Ashton, Paul Basleigh, Verity Bentham, James Bisp, Tyman Boatwright, Simon Coulthard, Lucie Downer, Tom Gillies, Emma Harris, Pip Jordan, Louise Madison, Emily Mascarenhas, Sarah Meade, Nathaniel Morrison, Mark Oxtoby, Adam Pearce, Tamlyn Platts, Pippa Raine, Fiona Reyes, Ricky Rojas, Craig Scott, Jonathan Stewart, Kate Tydman, Russel Walker, Neal Wright and Danielle Young will comprise the ensemble.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with music by Webber and lyrics and book by Tim Rice, is a light-hearted reimagining of the biblical tale of Joseph, who is betrayed by his 11 brothers but finds a happy ending after adventures in Egypt.  The staging of the West End revival will be based upon that of Steven Pimlott's 1991 production.
