VIDEO: THE BAND'S VISIT Gives its Final Curtain Call on Broadway

The 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Band's Visit played its final performance on Broadway tonight, April 7, 2019. The production played 589 regular and 36 preview performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 W 47th Street).

In this delightfully offbeat story, set in a town that's way off the beaten path, a band of musicians arrive lost, out of the blue. Under the spell of the desert sky, and with beautiful music perfuming the air, the band brings the town to life in unexpected and tantalizing ways. Even the briefest visit can stay with you forever.

With a score that seduces your soul and sweeps you off your feet, and featuring Tony-winning performances and thrillingly talented onstage musicians, THE BAND'S VISIT rejoices in the way music makes us laugh, makes us cry, and ultimately, brings us together.

David Cromer directs, with music & lyrics by David Yazbek and book by Itamar Moses.

The North American Tour of The Band's Visit will launch on June 25, 2019 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, followed by the Kennedy Center (Washington, DC.), the Knight Theater (Charlotte, NC), the Cadillac Palace Theatre (Chicago, IL), the Orpheum Theatre (Minneapolis, MN), the Hippodrome (Baltimore, MD), the Golden Gate Theatre (San Francisco, CA), and the Smith Center (Las Vegas, NV), with more cities to be announced shortly.
